Entry requirements for Guatemala depend on your nationality. Here’s a quick overview to help you plan, but always check the official, up-to-date information from Guatemala’s immigration authority before you travel.
Quick overview
Category A: no visa required, only a valid passport. Most travelers from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the European Union fall into this category.
Category B: a visa from a Guatemalan embassy or consulate is required before traveling.
Category C: the visa must first be authorized by Guatemala’s immigration authority.
Visitors can usually stay up to 90 days, shared across Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua (CA-4 agreement).
